Job Summary: We're a marketing agency in need of a word sleuth. Someone who sweats the small stuff and has an acute attention to detail. We have two offices, one in San Francisco and the other in New York. Our San Francisco office has an immediate opening for a Proofreader. Think you have what it takes?
The Proofreader’s responsibility is to ensure that each project that is completed is free of grammatical errors, meets the job’s requirements, reads well and falls within brand standards. The Proofreader will report to the Creative Director, but may be assigned tasks from other members of the team or by our executive staff. This is a full-time position.
As with all team members, the Proofreader must follow the policies described in the company handbook, attend all internal meetings, and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times while working to instill a positive work environment at the agency. A successful proofreader shows proficiency in the following areas:
Primary Tasks
- Proofread projects for accuracy of text and format
- Write clear, tactful questions and comments to team concerning possible inconsistencies, misspellings, or grammatical or factual errors
- Stay current on multiple brand standards and guidelines
- Prioritize and organize work as assigned
Job Requirements
- Solid grammatical comprehension
- Fondness for disclaimers and sometimes the not-so-glamorous copy of advertising
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to operate in a Mac environment
- Proofreading experience through employment or internship program preferred but not necessary
- Able to effectively and calmly manage time in high pressure situations and short turnaround times
- Able to work longer hours when needed

- Proactively contribute ideas to projects
- Ability to make recommendations to improve workflow and streamline the proofreading part of the process
- Able to recognize when it is appropriate to ask for help and guidance
- Consistently work well with and demonstrate respect for colleagues at all levels and contribute to a positive work environment

Advertising Intern at The Washington Post

Job Summary: This is a great opportunity to learn about advertising in a major media company, the overall ad process and the tech advertising sector.
This is a non-paid position and must be filled ASAP. Time requirement is 1 day per week, hours are flexible.
