Media Planner/Buyer (Creative Circle)

Job Summary: The Creative Group has an immediate need for a Media Strategist with experience in both Planning and Buying for one of our agency clients here in SF. The needs is two-fold: the first is an immediate contract position for a mid-level candidate that will last about two weeks. The second is a full-time opportunity for a more junior candidate with 2+ years experience in buying and planning. Both will focus on traditional advertising including print, but also online, out of home and radio. In this role you will execute day-to-day online and offline media planning/client service activities associated with an assigned account(s). Core media experience required in interactive and print planning with a strong familiarity in outdoor and broadcast media buying desired. In this role you will: consult with Media Director, clients and/or Account team to establish media objectives and strategies that satisfy client’s marketing objectives for a media campaign; present media plans to Media Director, Account and Creative teams, and/or client for approval and makes adjustments as necessary; respond to, prioritize and complete all planning assignments accurately and on time for all media, including online; develop/build relationships with media partners, negotiating rates and developing new opportunities; produce Media Authorization forms, process insertion orders and manage all local contracts; traffic online media plans using third party server; run online reporting, analyze data and make strategic optimization recommendations for booked media; work with radio buyers to ensure buys are made up to spec (where applicable); audit media billing and maintain a monthly budget report for assigned account(s); participate in the weekly status calls with client and manage media feedback; work closely with account team to anticipate client needs and report to Traffic and Production teams on schedule updates and specs for online and print media; and keep abreast of new media opportunities and developments and share information with the Media Director, Account and Creative teams and/or client.

Required Skills: The ideal candidate will have a BA degree, plus 2+ years media planning/buying experience. You should also have strong math and analytical skills; ability to relate results to client business objectives; media vendor negotiation experience ; experience with online research tools such as Nielsen, @Plan, AdRelevance, etc.; advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with DART trafficking, reporting and optimization; able to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure.

National Advertising Manager, Daily Californian

Job Summary: This position is responsible for meeting the national advertising sales revenue goals. Compensation consists of a base salary and percentage of sales with an upside potential for any sales goals that are exceeded. Revenue is critical to the Daily Cal so this person must have the ability to ramp up quickly and close deals in a timely manner.
